Shift scheduling software for Michigan temp crews, built around your volume

Shift scheduling software keeps track of when and where every RHO employee at your Michigan location works. Inform us how many people you need for each shift and department, and RHO Hiring will create the schedule, notify every employee of the schedule and update it as your volume changes. How does RHO schedule a temporary crew?

We begin with your requirements: how many workers are needed per shift per department, start and end times, days and any special experience needed for certain jobs. RHO loads the shifts into its workforce management software and invites workers who are qualified and want the hours to fill the slots. We inform each worker of their shifts, where to report and who they report to, and confirm who will be working before every shift.

Scheduling a temporary crew is more complicated than you might expect. Weekly volumes fluctuate, departments borrow people from one another, employees can only work so many hours, and one call-off can leave a station empty. Shift scheduling hands that work to RHO Hiring so your supervisors begin each shift with a full crew.

Your schedule shifts when your needs do. You need an extra Saturday. You want to move two people from packing to receiving. You need to cut a shift short because it's slow one week. Your RHO manager adjusts the schedule and notifies the employees. Open shifts and call-offs are delivered to RHO and we begin working on coverage the moment we receive them.

The schedule lives in the same application as clock-ins and timesheets, so the plan and reality can easily be compared shift by shift. Was someone scheduled? Did they show up? How many hours did they work? That comparison is where workforce analytics begins.

  • Built from your numbers

Head count by shift and department is set based on your volume and adjusted when it goes up or down.

  • Known before the shift

Every worker knows when and where to show up, and we verify who's coming before every shift.

What does RHO's shift scheduling cover?

  • Head count by shift

How many workers are needed each shift, determined with you and regularly updated.

  • Department placement

Assignment of workers to the right departments, so people are where the work is.

  • Workers matched to hours

Work schedules where people get the shifts they desire and can stick with, which helps them stay.

  • Schedules workers can rely on

Every worker is given their shifts, start time, reporting location and who to report to.

  • Confirmation before the shift

We determine who is attending before every shift so any holes show up early.

  • Changes when volume moves

Extra shifts, added days and reductions during slow periods forwarded to employees through RHO.

  • Cover for open shifts

Call-offs and open spots arrive at RHO, and we begin planning cover as soon as we know.

  • Planned against actual

Kept beside time cards so planned hours can be compared with hours worked.

Schedules we can run

Mix them as your floor needs. Your manager sets it up with you.

The same crew working the same shifts week to week, for steady operations.

  2. 2Day, night and weekend shifts

First, second and third shift and weekend crews assigned together so that they do not pull from each other.

  3. 3Long and compressed shifts

10-hour shifts, 12-hour shifts and compressed week options, worked by people familiar with what those days are like.

  4. 4Schedules that follow volume

A fluctuating head count that goes up and down with your orders, set weekly with your RHO manager.

  • Employees arrive on the wrong day or at the wrong entrance
  • One department is overstaffed while another is short
  • Adding a Saturday takes a day of phone calls
  • You only learn a shift is short when it starts

Why Michigan employers hand temp scheduling to RHO Hiring

  • Workers who want the hours

We assign people whose life commitments allow them to work that shift, so the schedule is predictable from week to week.

  • One place for the plan

RHO's workforce software contains schedules, clock-ins and timesheets, so we can compare the plan to the result.

  • Someone to call when it changes

Your RHO manager implements the change and communicates with the workers so your supervisors don't have to.

Shift scheduling questions

Don’t see yours? Call 248-843-0000 and a manager will answer it.

How much notice do you need to change the schedule?

Give as much notice as possible. The more notice you can give, the easier it is to find employees to work added shifts. We agree upon a notice window for regular changes when you first set up your account. Your RHO manager will let you know as soon as possible when a change is cutting it close.

Is this the same as shift staffing?

They complement each other. Shift staffing is the process of attracting employees to work your hardest-to-fill hours, such as nights and weekends. Shift scheduling is how those employees get placed on your calendar, confirmed before each shift and shuffled around as your volume dictates.

Who tells workers about schedule changes?

RHO handles that for you. Your RHO manager adjusts the schedule and communicates with the workers, so your supervisors do not have to make those phone calls the night before.

What happens when someone calls off?

Employees notify RHO of call-offs and we begin looking for cover immediately. If a missed clock-in is our first indication of an absence, our software notifies the RHO team so we can begin searching for a replacement.

Can you schedule across several departments or sites?

Yes. They are maintained by department and by site so when a worker transfers from one department to another they remain on file and the head count for each department remains accurate.

Do the schedules include our own employees?

No. RHO only schedules the employees we place. Let us know how your permanent crew is staffed per shift, and we will plan the temp head count around it.
