Vendor on premise staffing: on-site supervisors for your Michigan temp crew

Vendor on premise staffing means the staffing company's staff works at your Michigan location. With RHO Hiring, it's an RHO supervisor on your floor checking the RHO crew in, keeping it focused and following your site's rules, and handling issues before they become your management's problems. Call (248) 843-0000.

What does an on-site staffing supervisor do?

An RHO supervisor will start the shift by signing in the RHO crew and verifying the head count with your supervisors. They will place workers at the stations requested by your team, ensure all workers have the appropriate PPE for the area and understand the site rules, and walk new starts through their first hours. After that, they'll make sure the RHO crew stays on task and on pace for the shift, answer any questions workers may have, troubleshoot issues as they arise and relocate workers if your supervisors need them elsewhere.

Managing a large temporary crew takes your leads from overseeing just your employees to overseeing your employees and a crew of temps in need of check-in, placement, reminders and follow-up. Our on-site supervisor staff takes the second group off your leads' hands. RHO Hiring sends its own supervisors into your facility to lead RHO employees on the shifts they cover.

Lines of responsibility remain distinct. Your managers determine what work is performed, in what sequence and to what standard. Your site trains workers on its equipment and hazards. The RHO supervisor directs the RHO crew to accomplish that plan and will be the first person your supervisors contact regarding any RHO employee. Attendance, tardiness and call-offs are recorded in RHO's workforce management software during the shift, and a missed clock-in is communicated to the RHO team so a replacement can be dispatched.

Before clocking out, the supervisor adds to the record and passes notes to your RHO account manager: who excelled, who needs help and any concerns your team expressed. This is how small issues are resolved before they create turnover.

  • Our supervisors, our workers

RHO supervisors lead the workers RHO assigns, so your leads won't be doubling up on crews.

  • Working to your plan

Your managers set the work, priorities and standards. The RHO supervisor gets the RHO crew to meet them.

What do RHO's supervisors handle each shift?

  • Shift check-in

RHO crew checks in at the start, with head count reported to your supervisors.

  • Placement at stations

Workers placed where your team needs them, and relocated as the work location shifts.

  • Site rules and PPE

Every RHO worker in proper PPE for the area, and in accordance with your site's standards, all shift long.

  • First hours for new starts

New employees greeted, oriented and introduced to their job and coworkers.

  • Pace and quality

RHO crew kept focused and on pace, up to the expectations of your managers.

  • Problems handled on the spot

Issues, escalations and errors the RHO supervisor will handle instead of passing along to your leads.

  • Attendance on the record

Late punches, call-offs and no-shows recorded during the shift. The RHO team will be notified to backfill these openings.

  • Shift notes

What occurred during the shift passed on to your RHO account manager, plus any feedback from your team.

How supervisor coverage can be set up

Mix them as your floor needs. Your manager sets it up with you.

  1. 1The shifts that need it most

One supervisor on the shifts with the largest RHO crew, typically second or third, and visits to cover the rest.

  2. 2Day, night and weekend

RHO supervisors on each shift your facility operates, including nights and weekends.

  3. 3By department

On larger accounts, a supervisor for each area, such as receiving, production or shipping.

  4. 4Single site or several

Supervisors at each facility RHO staffs, all working with the same RHO account team.

Signs an RHO supervisor would help

  • Your leads spend their shift dealing with temps rather than working the line.
  • There is nobody overseeing the temp crew on night or weekend shifts.
  • Problems with temporary workers reach you the next morning
  • New starts stand around waiting to be told where to go
  • The temporary crew is large enough to be its own department.

On-site supervisor questions

Don’t see yours? Call 248-843-0000 and a manager will answer it.

Do RHO supervisors direct our employees?

No. RHO supervisors lead only the workers RHO staffs. Your employees will report to your supervisors as they always have.

Who decides what the RHO crew works on?

Your managers. They establish the work, priorities and quality standard. Your site trains employees on equipment and hazards. The RHO supervisor guides the crew to meet that expectation and is your team's first point of contact for any RHO employee.

When does a facility need an RHO supervisor?

Typically when the RHO crew size for a shift is large, when a shift runs with very few of your own leads, such as nights and weekends, or when you often get new starts coming in. For smaller crews, an RHO account manager will visit your floor and stay a call away. We will suggest a setup after we have familiarized ourselves with your facility.

Who is responsible for safety?

We both are. RHO provides safety training to workers before they start, and our supervisors ensure that the crew follows your site rules and wears the appropriate PPE. Your site provides training to workers on specific hazards and equipment they will be using on your site. We coordinate all of these details prior to the first shift starting.

How is the supervisor team priced?

It's built into the staffing proposal depending on shifts covered and crew size. We explain what's included and how we price it up front.

Who does the RHO supervisor answer to?

To your RHO account team, which answers to you on your account. If something about a supervisor isn't working, report it to your RHO manager.
