Temp-to-hire staffing in Michigan: see the work before you hire
Temp-to-hire staffing in Michigan is when a worker begins working on your floor under RHO's employment, and once the predetermined working period you both agreed upon is up and you like their work, you then hire them onto your payroll. RHO Hiring will recruit and screen your worker and pay them until you hire them. Call (248) 843-0000.
Need workers? Call248-843-0000A manager usually calls back within a couple of hoursHow does temp-to-hire staffing work?
Temp-to-hire arrangements begin as temporary assignments. RHO Hiring finds the worker, screens them for dependability and attention to detail, safety-trains them before they arrive on site and prepares them for your job site. Throughout the working term RHO Hiring is the employer: we pay the worker, withhold payroll taxes and manage the employment forms, while your foremen manage the work. If something isn't working, you notify your manager and we correct the situation without you having to terminate an employee yourself.
An interview shows you how someone talks about work. A few weeks on your floor shows you how they work. Do they show up for second shift every day? Do they keep pace on the line? Do they get along with the crew? Temp-to-hire staffing allows you to find that out before they join your payroll.
At the end of the working period, if you'd like to retain the worker, you offer them a job on your own payroll. They become your employee on your pay and benefits that day. The length of the work period and terms of the move are spelled out in your agreement with RHO before their first shift, so conversion is easy when you're ready. Still deciding which model is best for you? We compare temp, temp-to-hire and direct hire in one guide.
We inform candidates that it is a temp-to-hire position upfront, so the applicants you receive will be seeking a long-term position with your company. This fact makes temp-to-hire ideal for positions that you want to retain long-term: machine operators, forklift operators, quality inspectors and other skilled line workers that a plant relies on. In search of a temp-to-hire position yourself? View open positions and apply.

What does RHO do in a temp-to-hire placement?
Defining the job
We learn how the job works, what shift you are looking for, the pace of your operation and what you look for in a good hire, including what would make you want to retain someone.
Recruiting for the long term
We target individuals looking for permanent employment and let them know the position can turn into a permanent one.
Screening and preparation
Candidates are pre-screened for reliability and attention to detail. They receive safety training prior to starting and are oriented to your site.
Employment during the working period
RHO pays the employee, withholds payroll taxes and manages all employment forms until you decide to hire.
Check-ins along the way
Your manager checks in with your supervisors throughout the working period. This way issues are identified early rather than at decision time.
Changes when needed
When workers aren't a good fit, we cancel the assignment and look for someone who is.
Attendance records
Access to hours and attendance from the working period, meaning your decision isn't based solely on a gut feeling.
The move to your payroll
Upon your decision to hire, we coordinate the effective date with you so the worker doesn't miss a shift.
Temp-to-hire options

Temp-to-hire staffing questions
Don’t see yours? Call 248-843-0000 and a manager will answer it.
How long is the working period before we can hire?
You and your manager agree to this ahead of the first shift and include it in your agreement. Select a length of time that will allow you to evaluate the worker on actual shifts. Make it long enough to assess attendance, pace and teamwork. Your manager may recommend a time period that works best for the position.
How does pricing work for temp-to-hire?
With temp-to-hire, you pay an hourly bill rate for hours worked throughout the working period, just like temporary staffing. The bill rate includes the worker's wages, costs associated with employing that worker and RHO's recruitment and management fees. Your agreement will outline the terms for transitioning the worker to your payroll up-front, before anyone even begins working. We have a breakdown of how temp-to-hire is priced on our pricing page.
Who handles payroll during the working period?
RHO. Until such time as you employ the worker, RHO is their employer: we pay them, deduct payroll taxes and deal with all the employment paperwork. After you employ them, they are on your payroll.
What if the worker doesn't work out?
Inform your RHO manager. We will terminate the assignment and look for someone that is a better fit based on our knowledge of your floor. No one will be placed on your payroll without your approval.
Do we have to hire the worker at the end?
No. Temp-to-hire allows you to hire; it does not force you to hire. If you need more time or the position has evolved, discuss with your manager what step to take next.
Can the worker turn the job offer down?
Yes, they have a choice as well. That's why we interview candidates about the position, the shift and your company before they start. We want the people that begin a temp-to-hire assignment to be interested in staying.
