Temp staffing is the easiest method to increase your headcount without increasing your payroll. You let us know how many and what type of workers you need (for example, six packers to work first shift beginning Monday) and RHO Hiring will find and hire them and send them to your facility. They report to your supervisors, work your schedule and will be there for as long as you need them: whether that's a week of overflow, an entire busy season or an indefinite amount of time.
Throughout the assignment, RHO acts as the employer of the worker. We recruit and screen applicants, pay them, withhold payroll taxes and maintain employment records. Your supervisors control the day-to-day work activities, train them on your equipment and site rules and approve their time. You only receive one invoice from RHO, charged by the hour worked, instead of opening an individual employee file for every employee who walks in your door.
We learn how your facility operates: processes, shifts, volume, speed and expectations for a strong first week before your first worker even arrives. Workers are screened for reliability and attention to detail before they start and trained on safety. We also inform them about what to expect at your facility from day one, including start time, where to enter and what clothing will be required on the job. You have a dedicated management team behind you, so when something changes on an order or a worker isn't the right match, one phone call to your manager and we're on it.
RHO Hiring is a locally owned, Southfield-based company with over 100 workers on assignment throughout Michigan. We have people working at warehouses, factories, food production facilities and cannabis facilities throughout Metro Detroit and the rest of the state. We work day, night and weekend shifts. RHO is the employer
While the assignment runs, RHO pays the worker, withholds payroll taxes and does the employment paperwork. You approve the hours and receive one invoice.
Matched to your floor
After understanding your workflow, shift times and volume, we source the workers to fit them and prepare each one for your site before day one.

What does a temp agency handle for you?
Taking the order
A manager will respond to you, typically within a couple of hours, to review the jobs, head count, shifts, start date and site rules.
Recruiting
Candidates for the position are drawn from RHO's workers and job applicants, including those who apply at our Southfield location.
Screening
We vet candidates for reliability and attention to detail. We discuss the work, the shift and the pace prior to offering the assignment.
Safety and site preparation
Workers receive safety training prior to arrival and orientation on your site standards so you aren't spending their first day covering the basics.
Payroll and paperwork
RHO pays the worker, withholds payroll taxes and maintains employment records for the entire assignment.
Attendance and call-offs
We confirm who is coming on each shift, and as soon as we hear about a call-off we begin looking for a replacement.
Fixing problems
If a worker doesn't work out for you, let your manager know. We discuss the issue with you and the worker and substitute them if necessary.
One invoice
The hours you approve are invoiced together on one bill from RHO, so your team doesn't have to process payroll for temps.
How long, and on which shifts
Mix them as your floor needs. Your manager sets it up with you.
- 1Short assignments
Days or a few weeks of help to cover a backlog, a project, an inventory count, or vacations and leaves.
- 2Ongoing assignments
Workers that show up as long as there is work for them. RHO tracks attendance and replaces people as needed month after month.
- 3Day, night and weekend shifts
1st, 2nd and 3rd shift, weekends and high-volume days. Every shift is staffed the same way.
- 4A path to temp-to-hire
Want to retain a worker? A temp assignment can become temp-to-hire, under terms agreed upon in advance.

When should you call a temp agency?
- Overtime is covering gaps that never seem to close
- Orders go out late because a line or zone is short
- Supervisors spend hours a week on hiring and paperwork
- Business volume ebbs and flows weekly, and permanent hires don't fit that pattern
- One or two call-offs leave a whole shift short
- A new line or contract begins before you've had a chance to staff it

Temporary staffing questions
Don’t see yours? Call 248-843-0000 and a manager will answer it.
How fast can temporary workers start?
This varies by the position, number of workers and shift worked. A manager will call you back, typically within a couple of hours, to complete your order. General labor and warehouse positions tend to be filled the quickest; skilled positions like machine operators may take longer. We will provide you with an estimated start date when your order is taken and notify you as soon as possible if anything changes.
How is temporary staffing priced?
Per hour worked. Each job is priced by the hour. The hourly bill rate includes the cost of paying the worker, as well as the costs associated with employing that worker and RHO's recruitment and management costs. Each job's rate is affected by the type of job and skills required, shift worked, number of workers needed and the length of the assignment. Overtime hours are priced higher due to overtime wages paid to the worker. You will receive a quote prior to any workers starting. Our page on how we price staffing breaks down each part of the rate.
How do I choose a temp agency in Detroit?
Ask who hires and pays the workers, how they are screened and trained, how quickly you will hear back from a manager, and what happens if someone doesn't perform. RHO Hiring hires and pays its workers, screens them for reliability and trains them in safety before they start, and a manager will respond to you, typically within a couple of hours.
What if a temporary worker doesn't work out?
Call your RHO manager. We will discuss what occurred with you, talk to the worker and, if it's not a good fit, terminate the assignment and look for someone else. The sooner you notify us (even about minor issues), the better our next match can be.
Can we hire a temporary worker permanently?
Yes. Many employers use a temp assignment to evaluate how a person works. Discuss it with your RHO manager. The terms for moving a worker onto your payroll are spelled out in your contract with RHO prior to the first shift, so there are no surprises. If you are already planning to hire, you may be better suited for temp-to-hire.
Who is responsible for safety at our site?
We each play a role. RHO provides safety training to workers and prepares them for your site prior to their arrival. Your foremen walk them through your equipment, hazards and policies on day one. Before that first shift we discuss with you who furnishes what PPE, and we ask you to report any incident immediately.
